Compelling Community. Growing Disciples. Reaching Our Neighbors.

Kids Sunday Morning

Our desire is to come alongside you as you seek to raise your children to love God and others. From your child’s earliest days through their teen years, we want them to experience Worship, Biblical Learning and Christian Community. Our Sunday morning children’s ministry is designed with that in mind!

NURSERY
Birth–1 year
Nursery Care is available throughout the morning, 9:20 am–12:00 noon. (9:20 am–11:00 am during the summer)

TODDLER CARE
2 years–3 years
Toddlers have their own play room during the 9:30 am Worship Service and are escorted to their Sunday School classroom at 11:00 am by their teachers.

YOUNG CHILDREN AND WORSHIP
4 years–1st grade
Children ages 4 and above join their parents in the sanctuary for the first part of the Worship Service at 9:30 am. They, along with children of any age, are welcome to come forward during our Ministry to Children time. After this, the children ages 4 years–1st grade will be escorted downstairs to our Young Children And Worship program. (Children 2nd grade and up remain in the Worship Service. Activity sheets and crayons are available in the Narthex.)

Young Children And Worship is literally a worship service for children. They participate in liturgy and recite the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostle’s Creed. They use sign language and voices to sing praise to God. They hear and see a Bible story, then think about it together and respond in creative ways. They experience the mystery of prayer and the reading of God’s Word.

SUNDAY SCHOOL (Fall through spring)
PreK–K
After Young Children And Worship ends at 11:00 am, children PreK–K will be escorted to their Sunday School classroom by their teachers. They have some free play, then directed interactive games and a short craft before they refocus on learning! The Sunday School curriculum for this age group is “Leading Little Ones to God”. We use puppets to tell the Bible story then discuss the basic theological idea presented (e.g. What is God like? What is the church? What is prayer? What does God want His children to do?). Toward the end of our time together we pray and work on memorizing Scripture.

1st–5th Grade
Sunday School begins at 11:00 am. We use the TruStory Curriculum, which uses a three year cycle, traveling through the whole Bible and focusing on different stories each year, but always returning to the main themes of Scripture. Children are taught by church members who love God’s Word and desire to help the children apply it to their lives.
