Our desire is to come alongside you as you seek to raise your children to love God and others. From your child’s earliest days through their teen years, we want them to experience Worship, Biblical Learning and Christian Community. Our Sunday morning children’s ministry is designed with that in mind!
Our nursery is staff by screened and trained adults who love children! The nursery is available throughout the morning, 9:20 am–12:00 noon. (9:20 am–11:00 am during the summer)
24 months–3 years
Toddlers are lovingly cared for during the 9:30 am Worship Service by screened and trained volunteers. Toddlers can be picked up by parents or escorted to their Sunday School classroom at 11:00 am by their teachers
YOUNG CHILDREN AND WORSHIP
4 years–1st grade
Children ages 4 and above join their parents in the sanctuary for the first part of the Worship Service at 9:30 am. They, along with children of any age, are welcome to come forward during our Ministry to Children time. After this, the children ages 4 years–1st grade are escorted downstairs to our Young Children And Worship program. (Children 2nd grade and up remain in the Worship Service. Activity sheets and crayons are available in the Narthex.)
Young Children And Worship is a worship service designed for children. They recite the Lord’s Prayer and learn the Apostle’s Creed. They utilize sign language and sing praise to God. They hear and watch a bible story, then think about it together and respond in creative ways. They experience the mystery of prayer and the reading of God’s Word.
SUNDAY SCHOOL (11:00 am, fall through spring)
Children ages 24 months–3 years have their own Sunday School class. Their teachers introduce them to major bible stories and engage them in related crafts, songs, and activities.
The young elementary children use the TruStory Curriculum, a three year cycle that travels through the whole Bible each year, focusing on different stories, always returning to the main themes of Scripture. Each week the children spend time memorizing scripture and praying for each other. As time allows, they are read stories from inspiring Christian based novels.
Our older elementary school students learn how to study the Bible for themselves. This year they are studying the book of Acts, one chapter a week. Newcomers are always welcome. The class spends time memorizing scripture and learning about the formation of the early Christian church. The children learn to pray out loud for themselves and others. They ask the Lord to meet their emotional, physical and spiritual needs, as well as the needs of others.
