Sunday School, Community Groups, and YCW

Sunday School and YCW will resume on January 11th.

Blue Christmas Service

Blue Christmas Service

December 18, 6:30pm

They say Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but what if it doesn't feel like it? This service is a safe space to reflect and remember the death of a loved one, broken relationships, illness, loneliness, or any other difficult season. Come as you are. Bring your doubt, lament, sadness, and anger. The God of all hope, joy, peace, and love is near to the broken-hearted. He is the light in the midst of this dark world. This service is open to the community. Consider inviting a friend, family member or coworker. May the church be a place for the hurting.

Christmas Eve Services

Christmas Eve Services

December 24, 4:00 and 9:00 pm

Join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus by recounting together the Christmas story through scripture and song. Come be encouraged: A weary world rejoices because Jesus gives us hope! Childcare is provided at the 4:00 pm service.

Resources and Food Drive

In light of the recent cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) funding, many of our neighbors are facing heightened food insecurity. Linked below is a database of local resources if you would like to contribute to the good work these organizations are doing.

Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Warrenville has a food pantry open on Sundays from 1-3 PM and Tuesdays from 11 AM to 1 PM.

For those in our church who are affected or otherwise need financial assistance, Faith Covenant has a benevolence fund. We are here to help. Please reach out to the care team at careteam@faithecc.org.

If you are able to help, please bring one or more of the listed items to donate. You can drop off the items by the Community Hub. If you would like to do more, New Life Centers need help packing emergency food boxes. (Learn more)

LIFE AT FAITH
  • Gratitude to God for an amazing supportive community of brothers & sisters at Faith. I was discharged from the hospital 11/28. My dear sister Susan Aarseth offered to drive me to my parents & I was able to be with my mom (suffering with severely progressed Parkinson’s) , dad, and older sister (haven’t seen in over a yr) for a 4 day visit, true gratitude to God for that time. Special request for prayers in change in housing arrangements as this visit home God showed me clearly how I flourish in health when w/ family & other Christians. I hope soon I can give this testimony during service in order to Glorify God! - Erika S
  • Prayers over my students that they will finish the semester well. Prayers that I will have patience and endurance to finish this semester well too. - Steph M
  • Safe travels back to Uganda and transitioning back home (empty nester going back before Christmas) - Nikki T
  • Safety of people when driving in the snow. - Segae S
  • Praise for a good first half of Tiger Breakfast!  We consistently see between 180-220 students each week and we are showing them the love of God. We thank you for your support through your prayers and giving. - The Tiger Breakfast Team
  • I'm asking for continued prayer for my daughter-in-law to find a new job. Thank you. - Pam B
  • Pray for peace as I wait to learn whether I'll be offered a job. Pray for potential discernment about what I should do if offered it because the work would be fulfilling but would entail a significant salary decrease, which is enormously frustrating for me. - Jessica J

Outreach has grown and changed over the years, but their core purpose has remained the same of transforming lives and communities by creating opportunities where barriers exist; by loving neighbors in word and deed; and by shining the light of hope on all peoples’ God-given potential. Outreach sponsors five faith-based community service organizations in Wheaton, Warrenville, Carol Stream, West Chicago and Lombard.

  • Pray for their service to people through education, mentoring, counseling, transitional housing, youth development, and other family services in their multiple locations.
  • Pray for the continued success of their high school tutoring program with the addition of more student participants.

Community Board

Looking for Affordable Housing: Many of you may know that I was looking for new housing arrangements last year before my lease expired. It now has become a necessity to find an affordable place to live.  I have lived independently, but at this time would prefer renting a room w/in a home, sharing an apartment w/ someone else you may know, or at the very least a more affordable single studio or one bedroom apartment.
My hope is "this new living arrangement" to remain in the area of Wheaton or close by so I don't lose Faith Covenant and that doesn't require me to find a whole new medical team, losing the great providers I have now. I also no longer can afford my rent as I have had to cut my hours at work due to health needs. If you know of anyone in a similar situation or are aware of a more affordable apartment, would you please contact me at 847-331-5644, thank you, Erika Stahl
